changing the colour of a hull

Hi all i am looking at a boat but it is blue down the sides and not a nice blue at that.
so i was wondering if it is possible to change the colour thru either re gelcoat or paint
and if so roughly how much would it be? and who would do this type of work??
    its a 5m cc
thanks in advance the angry angler

I painted my oldie fibreglass boat with Jotun 2pac to make it look nice again. The prep is time consuming but if you have a good air compressor you can do it much easier - the sanding and spray painting. I sanded, my mates did the spray. I think it was about $500 for the paint and thinners etc. Looks much better now but even 2 pac paint is not as tough as gelcoat.Attachment 80089

If its just the sides look at getting a colour vinyl wrap. you could even just buy rolls of black vinyl from signwriter and put it on yaself.

I did my own paint job on old glass Nova.. Resene paints.

Bit of mucking around, but worth it to get the colour you want. $500 would seem like a ball park figure for paint and thinners. Probably less though. 1ltr paint and 5ltrs Thinners will do it and of course, 1ltr primer / undercoat.
