Thread: Fluorocarbon Leaders

    Fluorocarbon Leaders

I've been a little disappointed in the leader material i have been using and was after a quality flurocarbon leader in the 40-60lb range. I'm after a brand that has proven its worth after a drawn out fight and not let go at knots or worn through.
    Thanks

Sunline make a good one in 100 meter spools. Fc Rock i think holds up great in my experience. Tight lines

    Re: Fluorocarbon Leaders

I love Black Magic fluorocarbon, and have used it in 40lb with good results. I have a mate who swears by using Jinkai, and it seems to be decent as well.

    Good question Lethal

Can anyone tell me what fc is good for fish in the 30kg range? (Deep sea)

I dont fish anything under 100lb braid as mainline (platypus brand), a good brand and durable, had the same line for 10 years.

fc sunline makes 50lb, i have used this for GT's with poppers and queenies. Had a mate use black magic while I was using sunline and he had knotts slipping aLL the time...

    Re: Fluorocarbon Leaders

Thanks for the replies, I have no idea unless I asked those who have tested and proved the fc leaders with their respective recommendations.

    Cheers, tight lines people.

    Re: Fluorocarbon Leaders

    Interesting artical Si thanks
    Traces i've been using are:
15lb black magic tough fluorocarbon which i've been happy with pulling in cobia up to 10kg.
30lb nylon famell super shock leader (recomended by bcf hervey bay) most disappoined with, made a bait jig out of it and was getting ripped apart by grinners.
60lb black magic tough trace with has let go with fresh leaders time and time again on quality fish. The bluefin i caught was on this.
