Garmin Echo 550C help wanted - master/hard reset
Hi all,
I am currently running a the above sounder with an Airmar P66 transducer. On my last tip out i noticed after a time, the images displayed on my screen were becoming pixelated, not the smooth animation that was usually showing. This was more noticable on the zoom screen. I checked all my settings and reset sounder to factory, to no avail.
I did notice that after reset, my scroll speed was automatically set to "fast", i changed this to "ultrascroll" with no noticable difference. Prior to this the display was brilliant.
Also when i tried to increase the gain, no noticable difference was made to readout. Previously i ran the gain at around 62% , but it appears that this is now 0% or no gain, with higher values producing little result.
I am wondering if, for some reason, there has been a glitch in the software for this unit, and if a master/hard reset would fix this. That is if there is a master reset. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanking you in advance.
Regards
Stewey

Up to now has been a brilliant unit. Even with this issue, was still showing the structure and fish that we were sitting on. Went with the p66 ducer cause oem one was accidently smashed on rocks near a ramp, was rather windy and son not strong enuff.
Still reckon that they are good value for money.

Problem solved.
I want to take this opportunity to thank Kittycat (Wayne) for his assistance and time. His assistance made the resolution of this small problem effortless for me. Also thanks to "Junior" from Garmin service dept.
All Australian and International companies should look at the service that Garmin, and their respective staff provide, and hopefully some could learn something. Good, or in my case great, customer service breeds and ensures long term loyality as well as favourable reviews and recomendations.
Garmin rules.
Thanks again Kittycat

Stewey.
