    backing line on sw8000PG

    Just bought a shimano biomaster sw8000.
    going to spool it with 40lb power pro braid. 300yds.
    question = what backing line would people suggest & how much.

    I don't think you will need backing. Power pro isn't that thin and 300 yards of 40lb is a lot of line on an 8000 size reel.

    Yep from memory I got about 250m of 40lb fins on my sw8000pg stella, so you should have more than enough.

    Yep just put a little sticky tape on the spool to stop it from slipping and go straight braid...
