GME GX600 VHF Fault - Volume gone

I've been using my GX600 without issue since about October last year. Strangely in the last day or so I noticed "gee it's awfully quiet" with the radio on about 50% volume (usually more than enough to hear all the chatter on scan). Then I realised whilst the LCD screen was buzzing away through numbers, often stopping, nothing was being produced by the speaker.

So I turned the volume up to 100% and I could just barely hear people talking. The reception is crystal clear, just the volume seems completely gone. There is not much I can think of that could be responsible for this issue. I've checked the fuses (not that power to the unit is an issue) and the antenna is still firmly connected (the reception is fine, just the volume isn't).

Anybody experience or heard of similar issue ? Just want to put my feelers out before I warranty the unit in case there's something trivial I'm missing.

    Thanks.

Yes mine is doing the same, switches on and all that but only a very faint volume, have been using this unit fine for the past 5 years. I think it had a bit water ingress due to the heavy rain we had recently, when I looked into it these units are only "water resistant" so I plan on going to "water proof" (Icom). At first I thought it may just be the speaker was buggered so I purchased an extensiuon speaker but it didn't fix the problem. Might pull it apart and have a look.
