    HDS7 Gen 2 Questions

Guys have just put a 07/08? BF40 Honda on and wondering if/how do i connect it up to the hds7 Gen 2 so as to get info on fuel usage, Rpm etc?

Also what would be a good upgrade tranny to enable sounding in 200-400m?

    Regards
    Dave

    Re: HDS7 Gen 2 Questions

    G'day Dave,

    Honda weren't nmea 2000 compliant until 2009 / 2010?????
A quick call to your Honda Dealer with the model / serial numbers will see if it is.
If it is you need a Honda nmea 2000 engine interface cable, available from your Honda dealer.
If you didn't already know, Gary (Spaniard King) is the best Honda Dealer in your area. 0400 008 507

The standard 50/200 transducer will sound to those depths but if you want awesome performance in those depths upgrade to a 1kw transducr like the B164.

Quick question... if you have a 40hp motor it doesn't suggest a big boat and the 400m line is a looong way off the coast... where are you going to be fishing?

    Cheers

    Cheers Pete,

Yep I know Garry his expertise was a factor in the honda purchase :p I will bother him later as I just realised I may be able to get some good data on motor performance/fuel economy with a more modern engine as recently upgraded from a 97 2 banger.

LOL Quick question! but no mate not a big boat she only a 4.3 but built like a tank, I often go out 20-22k out off tweed when the weather is right so figure if I can get my sounder performing well I may as well trek out a little further on the right day.

Are you the man to provide this? Would the 1kw put the fish off in <50m?

    Re: HDS7 Gen 2 Questions

    Yes I can if needed.
As far as I am concerned 1kw is no different to anything else.

    Cheers

    Pete
