Garmin GPSMAP 551S
I have just put on hold a Garmin GpsMap 551s, however I can't find much info on it or any product reviews.....Any advice would be appreciated, Eg will my older transducer work with it (GpsMap 420). Map support etc.

Sunfish do a search here for Garnin 551 and you will see a few threads.... It's a good unit I think.
It's clearly visible during the daylight. Easy interface. Seems good to me.

Re: Garmin GPSMAP 551S
Gps wise they are great with the blue chart. I have a 50/200 tranny that would fit it if you like, maybe we can swap some fishing marks for it. I took it off mine and only used it as a gps. I had a 555s.. Pm me if you like

Re: Garmin GPSMAP 551S
I have the GPSmap 551 without the sounder function and find it great as a plotter, quite accurate and easy to use. Good maps and good info too. I have heard good things on their sounding capabilities also although have never tried one as a sounder personally. The screen IMO is one of the best around too
Hope that helps a bit..
