Was great to meet you Keith and what a massive effort to come down from Bundy. If you bring ear muffs, then the cabin is fine. Oh, a nose peg would be good at times.

The drive was worth it. I think a nose peg would be essential. Quick question, Can i overbind with metalic thread & would i need to double overbind it
    Regards Keith

    Re: 2012 rod building weekend

Well I have ordered my first lot of thread after Stu's comments about mine, and a mate is helping me build a 12v dryer so all i have to do is build a few.
I can't add anything interesting to what has already been said. It was a great weekend, good to put some faces to the names, see how rod building, in particular binding and coating, is supposed to look like when done properly, and to sit around and talk about everything and anything.
Dazza covered the Pinhead Jnr jnr's input into the weekend with his helpful criticism of Finga's binding technique. I must admit on the 1 1/2 hr drive home on Saturday afternoon i was a bit jealous of all the boys having an ale or 15, then the stories from the cabin that Saturday night surfaced and then it didn't seem too bad a drive after all.
Many thanks to Stuart for his time, Greg and Sue for their hospitality, Finga for his help and enthusiasm, and all the rest for good yarn and showing what amateur rod builders can achieve. Hope to see you all at the next one.
    Iain

As usual, a great bunch of blokes..many thanks to Stuart again for sharing his expertise.

Never had so many from so far..from Maryborough, Gympie district, Bundaberg, Toowoomba, Palmwoods, Caboolture, Brisbane and Warwick.

Even had the youngest particiapnt ever doing some binding..age 10.

Top weekend..thanks a lot all and hope you all learnt something.

Yes TOL..I do have some pics when I get motivated enough to put them on here.

PS..I put 66 cans/stubbies in the esky on Friday arvo..wammy brought some also..there are 5 cans left...and some did not drink at all..not a bad effort from Dazza and wammy..LOL..and Steve and Mark.

    I can't see Greg's name there.....

Great weekend had by all. Thanks to Sue, Regan, Stu and Greg.
Finga and myself lucky enough to have dinner and a beverage with Greg, Sue and Reg. Yum Yum. Finished with a yarn and a f#$%%n good port from St george.
Stuart thank you for putting up with my stupid questions and slow learning abilities, I have taken it on board and will improve.
Thanks to Graham also for your input and supply's. I don't know how you fit all that stuff in a dual cab.
I'm very thankful that I didn't have to share a cabin....

Holly crap. I really need a haircut eh what?? Why didn't anyone say something??

Thanks for the hospitality over the week-end Mr and Mrs Pinhead and Jnr, Jnr Pinhead. As usual you've made a few misfits feel right at home.
Thanks for the..........bloody hell......what was that that Stu teacheded me this year??? Oh yeah. Thanks for showing me what gay colours are Stu.
And most importantly....thanks to all the new guys I met and the new guys who turned up. Without you guys we'd only have Dazza to put crap on all week-end.
Or was it the other way around?? I forget now seeing it was a week ago. All I remember was that there was a fair bit of verbal kaka getting thrown about.

Go the mighty green and red (or red and green if your left handed). Be proud to wear the colours Stu.
I intend on living for-ever....so far so good

Holy crap batman. I was going to press the dislike button for the photos only because the ugly mug "myself" didnt have time to powder my face before the photo was clicked. Still, better looking than some of the other mugs there.
