West Coast of Fraser Island fishing advice

Would anyone have any local info for a trip I am doing starting this Saturday for a week.We are staying at Kingfisher and I am using a 5 metre Qunintrex Topender to get around.Is there any reasonably accessible reef spots in the area for snapper,sweeties etc?Also how do the west coasts creeks fish?Will be basically using soft plastics and livies if I can get them.Any help much appreciated.Cheers

Coffeee rock ledge runs all along the west side of the island llama. 5m is a good size as you can also get into some of the creeks where there will be flathead and maybe trumpies (grunter) as well at this time of the year. Others may be able to get you onto the arti, but as I understand it, the arti is a bit hit and miss at the best of times. Are good parrot and snapper/squire there apparently. You should be able to get out into platypus bay as well on a good day; there are some scattered reefs and plenty of pelagics out there. Watch the whales, they've come early this year.
There's a Hervey Bay website that I can't remember the name of (it's 4am) who will be able to give you some good advice. I'd also consider running over to the Mary and Susan as there may be some good prawns and bream there.

I have done a fishing charter out of Hervey Bay which fished the northern tip accessed from the western side of Fraser... there was some pretty awesome reefs and pinnacles off the tip which held some great fishing too.. depending on experience and willingness to motor for a while could be an option.

looks like the weather is going to be perfect fat bouy so the long motor up the inside of Fraser should be an option.cheers
