    Double donut for me :(

After yesterday's horrible conditions I tried again, this time chasing my 1st ever snapper off Scarby with Tunaticer. They had had well over 100mm of rain in the 24hrs or so but it had fined up nicely Sunday morning. Launched just after 5am and drifted over structure until about 10am. Covered a lot of ground for a couple of lost baits and no fish. Still I learnt a bit more to add to my knowledge bank and now have a new spot to explore during winter as the snapper turn on. Tunaticer got a few small ones (Squire I think). Oh well, cant win em all.

Couple of pics for the hell of it

Hope you all did a bit better than me

Mate, you get out of your comfort zone, hang with the riff raff, it will happen, donuts.
But, on a serious note, I have looked at the little boat ramp on Flinders Pde near Griffith rd and reckon on putting the little tinny in there and poke around the rocks. It looks good but I have never seen anybody around the area fishing. Then again I don't get out of the comfort zone to often.

I have launched there twice. Very shalllow but really reefy all the way out of the little cove. Plenty of rays and shovellies there but Have caught plenty of squire and a couple really nice grassies at the rocks just to the right there this time last year. Last time i was out there, a bloke in a kayak near me pulled up a snap so big he had to paddle back as he wouldnt fit on board .

By the way bad luck Funchy, i was gonna head out there myself this morning but the forecast looked terrible.. turned out to be ok.
Dad reckons fishing is 10% brains and 95% muscle, the rest is just good luck.

There are plenty of good Snapper caught from that area and a Kayak would be the ideal stealth weapon

Funchy, good that you came down our way, just a shame we couldn't turn on the fish for you. Still good to read your report.

There was a "Bream Social" from another forum happening in that area today, not sure if you saw many other boats and yaks (I think the weather yesterday and the bad forecast for today turned a lot off anyway).

Better luck to you for next week (we will actually be fishing next week too YAY !)

Did you two manage to get out yesterday ?
First time in a year for me the boat has not been in the water at least once in a week.
