    anzac day prawns

hi all. met brett and his mate brad down at reddy bay boat ramp this morn and took him for a tagalong down the bottom end of the bay. hard to get a park but great to see the boys in blue writing up tickets for all the selfish pricks parking in trailer bays without trailers. brightened my day immediately . plenty of boats out but not as bad as i was expecting. i think the prawns would have schooled up a bit better if there were less boats but it was okay getting regular 2's and 3's with the occasional dozen. sounder wasn't of much use to me as they weren't tight enough together to register on screen, so pretty much blind casting for the day. lot of work but managed a half inch shy of a full bucket of quality prawns. was a bit of an eye opener for brett what with all the targets on his radar screen. i'm happy to say i kept out of his way but not so lucky for the couple of blokes in a 12 footer. they were brett's only bumps - not once or twice but 3 times so i was told. brett said they must have been magnetic or something. i think they didn't keep a good enough look out as i even warned them he'd run them over (tho i may have warned them a bit late - maybe after the second). anyway was a good bash and brett and brad got a feed as well. back out there tomorrow to do it again.
    cheers

You guys shoulda headed off scarby this morning, big schools flicking on the surface half an hour before first light. One school I paddled through was over 30m diameter with surface showering continually. They were about 1km offshore in about 8m of water. looked to be about 13-15cm models.

yes, i think he's cutting down. dont know if he's doing m&g. he was asking when it was today. and haven't fished with him yet neither but i think he's already been converted. and i haven't given up on jason yet.

tunaticer - great when they spray like that. lot less casts to fill the bucket is much friendlier on the back. unfortunately you dont see it often enough and have to do it the hard way.
