Gidday - Ive just put a 140 suzuki on my old sportfish - been watching the fuel consumption pretty carefully since new - Motors done about forty hours now and has slowly been getting better as it loosens up.
Running a solas 13 7/8 x 19 s/s prop its now getting 15.8hr /hr and 0.8L / km - running pretty hard at 5800rpm doing about 28 to 29 knots.I dont know that I'd ever get 2km per Lt at these higher speeds - trolling speed yes definely, but not at higher running speeds.Depends what is pushing I suppose. As for grunt - its definately requires a little more accelleration to push onto the plan compared to the 130 2 stroke yammy I had prior, but once up and going the grunt is there.Definatelty wont go back to the 130 . Plenty of advantages - no fumes, less noise ,better fuel consumption , easy to start- just got to push it a little more to get it up on the plane.Seems to be a great motor.
