    Bucktail jig with trailer

Just wondering if anyone uses these jigs? Was given these to trial out. They look really good IMHO and will try them out just as soon as this weather improves. Thanks

i use these quite frequently. being from the states originally these are very common over there. i have them in all sizes and find that using them in the bay and in the estuaries they work just like soft plastics, they are essentially jigheads with feathers. in fact sometimes i even stick plastics bodys on the hooks - i can see yours already has these, mine do not.
they key to success with these, like plastics is the weight. fish as light as you can but be sure they reach the bottom. the technique is the same also, lift and drop. although i caught a nice flattie in the bay over the weekend by simply dead sticking one of them - very versatile indeed.

Great vid Dan. Bucktail jigs must nearly be as old as fishing itself, just banged a plastic on underneath it. Old and new(ish) merging. Ben

They look great! I love using plastics, and have used a bucktail jigs with some success, so might have to take a good look at these. come to think of it, I suppose bucktail jogs wouldn't be that hard to make yourself, and you could just whack a plastic on. What's the retail on them?

    Cheers,

The price depends on weight. The 2oz is about $10
