fish id please?

hey just wondering if i could get a id on this fish. a mate caught it in his dam up near rainbow beach. at first i thought it looked similiar to a cod but carnt id it?.?.?

Its Mogurnda adspersa or a southern purple spot gudgeon. They are found along much of the queenland coast aswell as a few spots on the inland rivers. There is also the northern purple spot gudgeon and a number of other Mogurnda species found through out Australia and PNG.
