With the good weather today, decided to hit the seaway & chase some fishies.
Couple of 60 cm jew throwbacks and then missed a few good hits.
Finally connected and managed to drag a big fella out of that nasty tackle eating reef.
After a pretty brutal fight, a big jack comes into view and just before he pops to the surface, a big grey shape slams him like a freight train and powers away.
a couple of seconds later, this is all I got back.
Estimated size ...around 55 - 60cm DOH!!
The head section was over 20 cm and that is a 7/0 gamakatsu sticking out of his mouth with a 20 gram halco twisty in the background for scale.
Surfers paddling past me totally oblivious to jaws' presence below
All went quiet after that.
Cheers
Mick.

Yep nasty result that one, they get me around mud island. Still wouldn't deter me from paddling across the sea way for a good wave. Its not like sharks in the water are a new thing. You take the chance everytime you paddle out. Love it.
cheers for sharing.
