    Easter fishing report

Left Bells Creek at about 6am with 2 mates. Mick had lent me his yak which was a definite upgrade on my little 9fter, like getting out of a mini and driving a Rolls Royce! (Thanks Mick). Headed down the passage to try a little secret spot that required a little bit of an overland excersion. Water was brakish with some bait moving about and what appeared to be swirls from stingrays but after exploring end to end we ended up with not a lot of interest.

Got back out in the passage and headed south further then began the drift back. Over the next couple of hours we picked up the usual suspects. Bream, whiting and flatties.

    Catches of note.
Mick got a nice 60cmish flatty
I dropped a 55cm at the yak and another about the same size snapped the leader as mick was getting the lipgrips one one for me.
I got a nice bream that went back
Scored my first ever whiting on a soft plastic. Went about 35 is cm at least I reckon. He inhaled a 3inch gulp minnow in smelt.

Anyway, great day on the water, did about 10k's. Great company too.

Might chase a jewy early tomorrow morning after not getting one yesterday!

Hey Funchy i also got my first couple of whiting today on plastics. I was using squidgey 2" wrigglers.
They were half the size of that one you got though.
Looks like a nice place to fish there mate

Hmmm hidden locations, hooded figures, overland excursions......a bit of a boy's own adventure.

Great photos, sounds like an enjoyable day on the water...nice whiting! (We got a couple at Wooli 18 months ago and haven't got one on a lure since)

Last night i headed over to the usually spot to wake up some jacks.......no luck, maybe because i got a 49cm one the night before...and a bream 30cm....then as the tide started coming in headed over to a spot just behind wave break isl and picked up 40cm taylor and that was it. Pretty slow going all night really...
