Amateur looking for spots along SE QLD coast (Jacobs well etc), canoe or landbased!
First off hello all.
My father just picked up 14ft 3 man old town canoe for a bit of fishing. Usually we would only go out off the coast in the uncles boat for a bit of reef fishing but this was rarely often. So he thought why not and get out a bit more to hit the water more regularly rather then sitting at home!
Im looking for some great spots around the SE qld coast. Either from North-side of Brisbane right down to northern nsw (tweed area). A friend and I have put the canoe in at Beehms creek in jacobs well but paddled inland rather then out and just caught catfish. Im targeting Jew, tailor and the more common species. Have tried ballina this weekend with my father but the weather was terrible, caught a decent flatty off an sp just up the north creek but just undersized for the rest.
Also looking for some land based spots around the Logan river right down to Jacobs well to try off land as I cannot always get the canoe.
Thanks!

Welcome to the site Spoon.
THere are so many spots in the geographical range you've given it seems silly to start listing them. Recommend you use the search function to find info on particular waterways. Lots of guys using yaks on this site so that will help you judge the applicability for canoe.
Pine River is one place to start on North Side of Bris!
Look forward to reading your reports

I was looking at maps of SE QLD the other day and I noticed they highlighted good fishing spots with a blue colour and the bad with a green colour!
Good Luck
Cheers,
