Launched at Clontarf at 5.30 this morning hoping to get a few squire outside the Woody Point green zone. Unfortunately the 'lighter winds inshore early' forecast wasn't light enough for me, so I ran over into the Pine and grabbed a few live baits in the cast net, then settled down to fish the Redcliffe bridges in the hope of finding a few lizards. The bite was steady without ever being spectacular. Took me until 10.30 before I got my fifth, with one going 60cm and a couple more about 50. As well I'd managed 7 reasonable bream and only had to release 2 undersize lizards, 3 undersize bream and one shovel nosed shark - that's a big improvement on what I've been getting there lately.
Amazingly not a single other boat appeared until about 9.30, when two came down, anchored for about 10 minutes and then disappeared up-river again. Ended up quite a nice morning with the shallow banks across the low tide moderating the chop and making it quite comfortable.
