    Decent Jewie - Landbased

With the moon just right, and a decent flush from the rivers, thought I'd try for a Jewie at Sandgate a few nights agoClick image for larger version.

ID:	78369. Have had a bit of success in the past after rain with the soapies of late, but wanted something legal. After dropping a livie out, didn't take long for a solid first run. Waited foir the second, and put the hurt on. After a great tussle on 15lb mainline and 30lb trace, in came this nice girl. went 97cm and just shy of 8kg (measured on human scales). Tackle box in shot is about 50cm.

Yeah mate, I still can't get over the amount of Jewies around there last few years. Fishing has improved around the 'gate of late. La Nina can be a good thing...sometimes.

Cuzza that is simply unbelievable from Sandgate. How did you steer your livey away from the rays / catties / eels / bull sharks / crabs !?
