    Lowrance Elite 5 power problem

I can't get my Elite 5 fishfinder to power up and would appreciate any advice before I take it back to the shop. It was ok a few days back and then I noticed a tiny (microscopic) spot of corrosion on the plug at the end of the cable in the boat, so as you do, gave it a shot of RP7. Since then it won't go at all. I am wondering if the lubricant could have pooled at the back of the plug and is causing shortcircuiting. A hair dryer and several days to dry out have made no difference. Another thought is that perhaps the RP7 lowered the resistance and thus allowed a greater current resulting in a blown fuse. But don't seem to be able to find any in-line fuse though. Any thoughts, thanks.

measure at the pins with a multimeter and see if you have 12v and ground.
