Just wondering if anyone knows who made the first spin reel with worm shaft line leveling system?
I had a Stradic back in the eighties that had it, was there anyone before Shimano?

Spinning reel with level wind??? maybe it is just me, but maybe you had better describe eactly what you mean, but when it comes to fishing gear, almost everything was thought of and used long before Shimano ever hit the scene.
Prety sure Reggy means worm drive oscilation.
I had a Shimano Aerocast from the 80's with that feature
the purple coloured shaft is what I`m refering to.saragosa 1 002.jpg
Oh, I see, reels makers like Mitchel and DAM (plus others) have used that system in various reels since the 60's, lots fooled around with the spool moving "in and out" and also the spool being outside and inside a cover "skirted" as it's called, lots of ideas have been used, discarded, used again, modified, made better, discarded again etc... lots also used a sort of gear with a point on the outside that caused the spool to oscillate, I think that is still used in some reels that are made by various makers.
