8m Armacraft with twin 90hp Optis, 5pob with gear and 250L of fuel (holds 600l but haven't filled it yet) is probably close to 2.5T.

Cruise at 4700rpm for 28knots and get 1.25l/km, Wot at 5400rpm for 35 knots and get 1.1km/L. Don't usually go any slower than 27-28knots.
Weight doesn't seem to influence speed or consumption much due to the lift created from the stepped hull so long as the bulk of the weight is astern of the first step (such as the fuel tank). This is from limited use but ranging from calm to solid 1.6-1.8 m chop.
    Happy with those figures.

My small boat is a Stessl 435 Angler with a tiller steer 60hp Yammie on it. Loaded for long range trips such as Weipa down to Arukun (130 litres fuel, 60 litres water, 2 pob, camping and fishing gear etc) I average 3km per litre fuel used across the entire trip. Do a 3 day trip covering over 300km and get back to Weipa with good fuel reserves.

Main boat is a 5 metre Shark Cat - 1989 vintage with twin 70hp Suzukis on the back. Running at 4500 revs gives 22 knots. I will get an average over a days fishing of 1.4km per litre pretty much regardless of conditions, and whether I have 2 or 3 people on the boat for the trip. Scarborough to top of Wide Caloundra via Hutchies and return for around 90 litres of fuel burned.

    cheers

    Jeff

    3100 Noosacat twin 300 yamies

Thirsty... Doesn't seem to matter what speed averages on most trips 2 litres per k.

Cruise speed 30 knots top end 48 knots. Although yesterday i came home at 27 knots into a 25 knot head sea. At times i backed of to 18 knots when the sets were over two meters and at that time on and of the throttle the gauge was registering .3 of a k per litre (not good). But when i got back in it still averaged only 2 litres per k for the whole trip.

Kevlacat 3100 with twin 200 Hondas
12 pob, 300L fuel and a LOT of gear.
Cruise 4000 RPM for 21 knots using 62 litres per hour. With 3 or 4 persons & lighter loads, gets down to 54 l/hr for similar figures
    WOT is 5600 using 142 l/hr at 34knots.

6.2m overall, rear CC tinny..built like a tinny not a plate boat....1.5km/L for planning, 1.7km/L more real two up, full offshore trim...yam 90 2 stroke, normal cruise 42km/h, faster cruise 48km/h....20% more fuel if faster cruise.

I have an old haines hunter v17L and fuel consumption with 2 pob in most weather condition is 2 to 2.2km per litre. With a 120 litre under floor tank plus a 60 litre secondary tank I'm confident of a 300 km journey

You're a tuffer man than me Keith, we were down to 14 knots on Thursday night and still catching plenty of air time. I'm still stiff and sorry, must get suspension seats one day.

Mate your consumption ain't that bad. I use 1.5 l/km on average and your boat is bigger with twice the horses of mine. And you go faster than me by a long shot.

For the record, my 2700 nc with 150 yams, on a big trip with 800l of fuel, 300kg of ice, three days of food, bait, water, a shedload of gear and a box of gold per man gets 1.4-1.5l a km, cruising at 22 knots or thereabouts.... I don't fuss about it, it uses what it uses and nothing will charge it.

    81 Haines v17r 115 yammie 4 stroke averages 2.2km/l at 4500rpm at around 48-50km/h gps speed. 19p stainless prop

What I also find interesting is the distance people travel for your average day trip. My average round trip is between 110-130ks for the day.
