    Brissie River Squire

    Hi all,
After canceling plans to fish the bay due to the weather, being stuck inside finally got the better of me. Grabbed my little girl, new boat, called a mate and decided to hit the River mouth. With low expectations and plans just to have look around, got on the water around 13:30. Fished the pipe line until the wind picked up to about 20 - 25kts then headed for the shelter of the rock wall. On the way checked out a few birds working on the flats on the western side - catching a little flathead around 30cm.
Once out along the wall continued flicking plastics until we we're rewarded with 2 nice Squire ; 48cm & a 45cm caught on a 5" Berkley Gulp Jerkshad.
With Kate starting get a little worn out we called it quits and headed back to the ramp at 16:00.
All up had a great time and pleased to christen the new tinny with a couple of nice fish.
Even better still was seeing my daughter enjoy it all so much and thanks to my mate Sam for going out of his way to make sure she hand fun. (I'll let you get a couple of fish next time ..... If your lucky)
    Cheers
    Richo

Got a Clark Pursuit 427 with a 40Hp Four stroke, very happy with it. Last boat was a quintrex explorer 385, so really enjoying the extra free board and the quiet motor. Got both fish with the motor running!

Nice work, its a good thing when the kids go to bed of a night nagging "are we going out in the tinny tomorrow". Looks like you had a great time.

You now have created a monster. Nice work mate and good result out of the mouth considering the conditions, can get pretty sloppy in the river at times. Well done.

quite impressive catch from that area, good photo.

How does one get on eating fish caught at the mouth of the Brisbane River?
I heard, that due floods etc, that the water quality not too good, and fish likely
to be polluted, and not fit for eating.

Well done,on a cool trip and good to see kids enjoying day out.
