    Hi Roscoe

Can you tell us about your paravane rig please? Ie the rig from the vane to the spoon, etc? I have seen the paravanes but am not sure about how to set them up and what distance to troll them etc.

    Cheers

Note to self: Don't argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience....

    moonlighter,
i use 50lb mono from the paravane to the spoon approx 4mtrs long..i cut the leader in half and tie in a black swivel to stop a bit of line twist...when i set the paravanes i have mine set up on rods ....i just set my troll speed to around 6 knts have the paravane tight on the tip of the rod put the rod tip in the water then release the bail arm and count to 10....the 2nd line repeat as per the first rod but count to 5 or 6 as this will give u 2 different depths on the paravane...then just hope the buggers are on the chew...the paravanes i use are yamashita brand an look like a surfboard or cuttlefish...these are by far the best but are not cheap at $29 each so u want to make sure u tie them on properly..i use the 3 inch maccaspoons but the halco ones work...
not much more i can tell ya...hope this helps ya out

Rosco, thanks for the experience, it was nice meeting Mick, his a great fella.
I have learn't more then I could have by reading forums. The weather and ride on the cat was awesome, especially warp 10. Now to be nagged to buy a cat. from the boy.

Called around today. All trolling boards are gone so are macca spoons. It's must be Mick stocking up hey.
Someone must have visit all the tackle stores.

The Mac tasted awesome. Now to catch prawns.

He was buggered but after an ice coffee at the bp and a look in tower bait and tackle he was back. No more spoons or boards. Managed to get two boards today 60 I think. As for spoons , got to make an order. Had a look on eBay and there is a similar product for $7 each.
    Very tempting as spares.

Hmm msa steak tonight and becks.

Rosco - I'm suprised Tim didnt fall asleep too. He usually falls asleep if the fishing is slow but i guess he had plenty of Grinner action to keep him going.

Timddo - Do you have any room left in your boat for the paravanes and spoons, there's about 500kg worth of gear in there already.

    cheers tim

Well done rosco with all having fun and showing the boyz how to troll. I was looking at those paravains at BCF sunday and if i hadnt already spent to much on plastics i would have grabbed 2 as it seems to make a difference for you at least. Cheers DD.....
