hi all. out the door at 4 this morn. plan was to drift the west peel arties till the weather sent me home. started drifting at about 5 and was quiet for the first couple of hours with only a small snap and a nice grassie (released) landed. another quiet hour and then a 45 hit the ice. followed shortly after by another the same. next drift and a 40 joins them. then i got an almighty smashing by a fish that took my 6lb set up instead of the 20. took me down to the backing which meant there was just over 200m of braid in the water. lot of weight in him but alas he must have found something sharp as i ended up with only 3 feet of what was a 9 foot leader - only freshly replaced. had a big dummy spit and got back into it. half hour later i notice the deadstick buckling over and got a consolation prize of a 66. gave the 45's away to the only other bloke out there who was vert happy to have em. gave it about another half hour before deciding the weather was looking like it was going to get a bit wetter. happy to report that the water clarity is much better and the jellies have moved on too.
cheers
