    North West Island trip

G'day people. I'm planning a trip over to north west island later in the year around august / September. My problem is our group is around 10 - 15 people and barge needs more numbers before they'll head out there and they haven't got any bookings yet to tag along with. Was wondering if anyone was planning a trip out there and want some extra numbers for the barge??

Historically.......... September has the most ' consecutive ' days of fishable weather than any other month in the Bunker / Capricorn Group area.

Good luck at North West, a few AF members have been there and one is a regular ( every year ).

    Re: North West Island trip

    G'day KALBO,

I have been up there a few times with a group that has been there for the last 30+ years in a row !!
They usually go around August/September for 2 weeks. Weather plays a big part in proceedings. If you get one good week out of two you are going o.k.

Will send you a PM with a contact for this group. Nice blokes, love a fish and social play, and extreamly well equiped and organised !!

    Regards
    Craigie.

    Re: North West Island trip

We are heading out on 28th September and same, we need gear taken out and would love to "follow" someone out in our boat. We do up round Dingo often and have gone to North West on barge but this the first time we are driving (new) boat over. Any tips for Gladstone to North West Island route? Would be much appreciated.

I'm hitting the island on the 11th with a group of around 30 or so. Looking at all the stuff we're taking, i'm not really looking forward to it at the moment.
