On Topic, mate, It's a sailfish or some kind of Cat Fish.. They're very similar in looks..
Its most deffo a river rat.. hungry little buggers partial to cheese and small kids toes (get into trouble using them for bait though) nice catch bud!!

ah its all good, i dont mind looking a bit stupid (well alot, thanks guys. lol).
Ive never been fishing at all really in my 33yrs so im at the same level of those kids.
Cant help but picture that xxxx (i think) ad where all the blokes are standing around cooking the fish and they dont know what it is till someone suggests its a barra and they all nod agreeing (yes , i know its not a barra)
