    Donnybrook Muddies

    hey everyone,

just spent a cracking weekend with 3 mates camping at mission point. Got to the campsite at about 10.30am Friday morning after setting up camp and putting the pots out, it was time to sit back catch up with lads and do some 375ml bicep curls!

Checked and rebated the pots first thing Saturday morning for 2 nice muddies, the pots were full of big jennies, crabbed the first 3 hours of the run in for another 3 cracking muddies. The size was decent (no XOS crabs) but the quality was as good as it gets. We kicked back at lunch time with the beers on ice and cooked up the crabs. Sitting on the waters edge eating fresh muddies and drinking ice cold beer is what life is about.

Pulled the pots out Sunday morning and managed another 4 good quality muddies.

It was the first time I'd crabbed the area and was happy with the results, I reckon this week up there will go mental for the crabs.

    Cheers

    Hey Troy,

I crabbed the passage near mission point camp site. Glassy creek was loaded with pots and everyone i spoke to wasn't doing that well. The spot we did best at was on the same side as mission point camp site, just past the small creek that is up from the camp site itself. You'll see where the sand turns to muddie banks with some mangroves on it, from there up to the green marker is where we did well. We got nothing around the mouth of where that creek runs out or where the sandie part is.

Hope that gives you a hand on getting a feed!

    Cheers

Good stuff, Bermo. Did you try up Povo creek, or were you in the main passage all the time? Have pulled some cracker bucks from Poverty Creek in the past (five years ago was the last time), and always wondered if they were still going strong there.

Andy, I email the pic to myself as an attachment and take up the option to shrink it. Then I'll save the pic from the incoming email and post it up from there, gets it from 2mb down to about 80kb. They upload easy then. I know there'd be easier ways to do it but I'm a dumb arse and it works for me.

Bermo, go to microsoft.com and do a search for "Photo Resizer" , download and run it. You can then resize any photo, it works great.
