Tcurve deep jig 200 V's Tcurve Revolution Vertical Jig. PE4.

    Hi guys.
I'm after a jig rod to suit a 10000 saragosa spooled with 50pnd braid.
I will be using jigs between 150 and 250gms.
I was thinking one of the above mentioned rods.
What do you guys think about these rods for kings around Eden or any other rods you may think are better for around the $200 mark.
    Thanks.

Forget the revolution. It's the el cheapo of tcurve. I have a 200 overhead that is a great rod. I have the same reel for my father but it is paired to a daiwa demon blood. It's roughly the same price and definitely a must have for that reel. I absolutely hate daiwa stuff but this rod I cannot fault with some great trophy fish under it's belt.

    Thanks fellers.
I have the 400 deep jig spin and love it.
Will the 200 deep jig handle kings to 15 kg if I'm lucky enough to hook one.
    Thanks.

Excellent rods mate. Have the 200 and 400 in spin and OH and cant fault them. The 200 should handle a 15kg king with ease

    Thanks champ.
I think I'll head down to the tackle store in the morning and grab a 200 deep jig.

Like phantomboy said, the 200 will handle 15kg kingfish, no problem. They're a popular rod and been round a while, so I've seen a few people jigging and livebaiting with them. I haven't heard of one breaking, either (but don't high-stick it, just in case!)

    Thanks mate.
My 400 has 80pnd braid and most fish I've caught on it have hardly pulled drag of so this is why I've downsized to the 200 deepjig /1000 gosa.
8000 Stradic FJ with 30pnd braid may be the downsize from the 200/10000 gosa.

I dont rate the t curve 200,i snapped one at the base last year in nz,after a few good fish it gave way,no high sticking involved,id stretch your budget a little and get a daiwa saltist demon blood if i was you.

Can i just ask what reel/drag u where running on the 200 deep jig.
I will be running about 7 to 8 kg of drag.
I should be safe with that amount of drag shouldn't I.
    Would shimano warranty cover this.
    Thanks.

    Nice.
What size/weight would you recommend for a 10000 gosa and 50pnd braid.
    Thanks.

OK, so now I've heard of one breaking...

Gozz, if you've already bought the 200, I wouldn't be too worried if you're planning to use only 7-8kg drag, but I think Cam is right - the Daiwa Demon Blood rods are probably better. I use a Daiwa Saltist Ahi ST LD-60 PE 4/5 overhead rod for my lighter setup, and I'm pretty sure the Saltist LD (all overhead) range uses the same type of blanks as the Demon Blood, just painted a different colour - they're around the same price and have the same sort of 'feel' to them. Both ranges have very light and slim blanks for their line ratings.

I will say, though, that in NZ, at White Island and other big fish locations around the top half of the North Island, 15kg kingfish are considered 'rats' and hardly worth mentioning. Just look at the 25kg+ kingie in Cam's avatar.

    Cheers,
    Brent.
