My mate had a party the other night in a canal estate off the coomera river and we decided to try and catch a couple of mullet and throw out a couple of lines with ganged hooks.
After an hour or two we came down and checked it and found a good size eel had engulfed our 15cm mullet, and I had heard the eel is good bait for sharks, so decided to just chop the eels head off with the hooks in it and allow that to be the bait.
We left it in overnight and came down in the morning to find a small bull shark had decided to eat the eels head. The other line had also been snapped off.
