    Rod for hinchinbrook trip

    Gday all

Just booked a week on a boat around hinchinbrook - got rods for the creeks etc. however looking for a rod for trolling, throwing slugs and a possible bottom bash. Needs to be about 7" and 2 piece. I have a stradic fi 6000 to go on it - will be running 30lb
Was thinking maybe a nitro viper? Tcurve blue water? Budget to $400
Any suggestions would be most welcome

    Cheers

My t-curves have served well although they are under 6' for trolling and reef bashing. Assume you are going out in the blue water - I have never bothered throwing slugs around but I take a 7' rod for floating baits to pick up the surface lurkers.

Samurai Reaction 532 would be my choice ........ you might get one between $400-450

    Then would be the Nitro

Give a man a fish & he will eat for a day !
    Teach him how to fish
& he will sit in a boat - & drink beer all day!

Thanks lads - had a look at the nitro vipers today and they seem to have a heap of grunt - more than the 6-8 kg rating its given - think it might be the go unless anyone thinks better

Bluewater Hinchinbrook needs a rod with power. 24kg would be my weapon of choice. Even inside the channel you'll get some big fish trolling. This Fingermark was over 10kg and needed every bit of power my gear could muster. That's Haycock Is. in the background to give you an idea of the location.
