Had a nice sesh down at Ballina the other night. Got down to spot x as the tide was running in and started flicking a HB around in the muddy water. After ten min I got slammed by a nice 76cm schoolie and bait started flicking around all over the place. I changed to a placcy and a few big boofs later I came up solid on a nice fish which ended up being a good size (89cm schoolie). After another 1/2hr of nudda I had changed back to a HB and bait started getting smashed again. I cast toward a big swirl and came up solid on a nice jack which was pretty suprising. The missus was on next and was very happy with her pb jewie of 86cm The tide slowed then stopped and began running out and everything went quiet so we bailed.
We were using 50lb braid with 80lb leader. Sp's were atomic prongs and squidies and the HB was a rapala.
