Hi All,
With the not so amazing weather and rainfall we've had on the GC over the past few weeks, we only needed a few hours of clearer skies to head out on the water.
We didn't get on the water until well into the evening as the inlaws are visiting and our young ones didn't want to sleep, not to worry, fishing anytime is better than no fishing at all.
Knowing the Coomera river is far too swollen we headed to the Nerang river. We started with the cast net, livies (herring and mullet) were much easier to catch than expected.
Nothing much to speak of on the lines though, a few undersize Bream and Whiting to keep us entertained while waiting for the livies to take off. We also tried a few new poppers to no avail.
The catch of the night though, a new PB for the smallest Trevally I have ever caught
All in all, it was great to get on the water, fished some new water and learnt to use the new sounder (Garmin 550C).
No fish (including the livies that were released alive) were harmed in the making of this report
