Hi Troy, firstly, your best bet re fish spots etc. is to pop into the tackle shop and chat with Tony ..he'll put you straight. We go up every year around Sept., and camp at the Captain VCook caravan park in 1770...always been good..and they also have cabins. We find the camp ground on the water is too packed. Re offshore, of course check weather/ conditions first, but a boat like yours should get you through the estuary mouth to someoutside fishing wher you could try trolling the headland for some spaniards and pother macs etc. . Its not really a bar in the true sense, but can get a bit lumpy.

Hi Troy, have stayed at baffle bobs at Baffle creek of course, basic but little dirt ramp onsite perfect for a boat your size, campground is around 5kms from the mouth, fished it in the middle of winter chasing flatties only which were way up in the shallow stuff, sure there are guys here who are guns on the fishing and crabbing there.
Just north is Broadwater haven on Broadwater creek, havent stayed there but have looked at the cabins and they look great right on the water protected from the ocean, not cheap though, Broadwater creek looks very fishy in the upper reaches as you cross and parallel several times when driving through the nat park, dark deep tannin water that may hold bass and crabs id imagine.
Stayed at the waterfront cara park at 1770, new managers a few months ago and all reports they are running a nice clean park. Good luck im sure the other guys here will fill you in on places to fish etc.
Ps, you can also camp at middle creek just north of 1770 about 35mins on dirt track, nice spot with chemical toilets only.
    Cheers
    Mick.

Troy, tackle shop is on the road into 1770..cant miss it ...its the only one there, and he stocks a huge range of gear. C Cook park is only a couple of minutes from boat ramp..all very easy access etc. Also, we usually get ourselves a 20kg ice bag for the kill tank fron the servo on the corner of Agnes to 1770 road. Once you're there you will work out an easy routine to get set for a day's fish ...and maybe a nights entertainment at the Agnes Tavern! Good shnitzels and cold beer! Lawry

hey buzzin there is a camp ground about 1hr away from baffle creek called wreck rock its really good fishing, you get reffies off the rocks, whiting, dart, and a lot of big flathead, you can get mangrove jack and there are also Jew/mulloway, bream, tarwine, bonfish, trevally, sharks, and if you walk down the left side about 3km there is another rock called middle rock and its good fishing there, and if you walk down the right side about 5-7km there's a creek/river and you get a lot of big jacks.

when i go up to wreck rock it is during march because i find its the best fishing because there is a lot of bait fish you can get in the cast net, i'm going at march to i may see you up there if you decide to go there

This is the house we have booked for September, stayed there before and is central to the tavern, servo and supermarket. All within easy walking distance.
