where can i find prawns !!!

I hope they come across the front of clontarf as thick as they did a couple years ago.

Usually that doesn't happen till April-May though. I'm giving Redland bay a go next Tuesday as i got the week off. To be more exact i'm going to the powerlines and islands.

IF i spot the mighty pero - i'll snap a picture of him in action ( Youtube sounds good)

Would the prawns from the Brisbane river be full of heavy metals and consumed in large quantities be bad for your health? even if you de-vein them? Or would they not absorb the heavy metals and toxins into their succulent flesh?

Live alittle for tomorrow we die anyway, if the seafood dont get you , its the mongrel driving the other car. The seafood coming from Vietnam has more toxins than Brisbane, Logan and Moreton Bay...and people pay top dollar (el cheapo) for the pleasure. Yowza. Bondy

I have eaten Mud crabs from the river for 30 years and there is nothing nothing nothing nothing wrong with memememememe.

Seriously, a good prawn spot is in the Pine upstream from the Bruce Highway bridge, look for a deep hole at the sharp left hand bend in the river near the poo factory. produces good prawns.

you can net (cast net or drag net) on the sand bank near bli bli boat ramp i usually get a lot there or in the mooloolah river up the river on lo tide i usually cast net in the deep holes near the mud banks/sand banks and get a lot, so try any of them places just after it has rained because it pushed the praws down streem for up river
