    Noosa fishing charters

Going for a bit of holiday to Noosa mid/late Feb with a heap of friends to show them around..

There's a heap of different fishing charters around which is great, but i wondering which one? Is there 1 that stands out as being the best?
There will be about 8 (so can't be too small a boat) of us including the women in our lives.. so something easy so they can latch on to a few nice fish. Maybe some reds or something good we can take home for the bbq that night.

Ill be taking a couple of my travel light plastics rods as well so i can sneak out and have a flick on the river as well..

    Any suggestions would be great!
    Cheers

If you want something a little better than a standard fishing charter talk to Dave at Salt Charters at Noosa.
High quality fitted out near new Kevalcat fitted out extremely well for comfort particularly if your taking your wives, aircon cab etc.

I did a charter on Nossa Bluewater charters a number of years back and can't complain.. they took us to the fish and we caught them and they did all the filleting etc at the end of the day so no complaints from me on that one.

A few of the regulars on here recommend Smithy (send him a pm) - he is a member on here.

I was going to go a few weeks ago when I was on holidays but didn't eventuate.

I have been on Offshore Fishing Noosa a few years back - stay clear of them in holiday season at least - they try and cram way too many people in holiday season and don't do full day trips (they do 2 half day trips) because they get more money. No fish either to make things worse. Just my view though.

We stayed at Coolum a few weeks ago - fishing was pretty quiet (land and estuary based). Fished the headlands a fair bit (with high being dawn and dusk) and did poorly using fresh squid from the trawlers and blue pillies. Was speaking to a few of the locals who were also lucking out - wasn't just me!

    Good luck.

A few mates who've been highly recommend Phippsy's smooth water charters. It's all about plastics & lure fishing on light gear (no bait) and they came back with quite the haul. Heaps of tips & stuff learnt from a master too.

Only problem is I think the max limit is 6 people so may not be right for what you want.

I want to do this myself when we're next up camping at Munna Pt.
