Hooked up with some Schoolies - 13/1/12

Left Cleveland ramp at 5:30am at dead low tide and yes Jason(Lump) their is very little sand there at this tide.

Headed straight to the Four Beacons in an uncomfortable East South East wind and did not see a single bird working. Jigged some livies and deployed some floaters with pillies, slimmies and gar at varying levels. The humble pilliy did most of the damage with the last two coming via trolling which also accounted for the Bonito. Also lost a nice cobia just under the boat.

Headed home about 10:00am in much better conditions getting some air time at 30+

Well done on finding the fish and the livies as all my livies down south have all gone after the dolphins and turtles feasting on them all over last few months. Did you sound and fish or were birds working to help. You gotta love that lumpy chop after 9am each day it has been shitty punchin through it. Cheers DD.....

DD, didn't see any birds working until we had already caught two fish. We decided not to chase them because we where anchored & the plan was working.

On the way back to Cleveland no birds where spotted the whole way - bit strange
