    USA Boats

My son wants to buy a boat from USA and is looking at something similiar in size to a 575 Cruise Craft.
He needs to up grade and the Boats here are out of his price range.
Any sites to look at and is it a cheaper option for him.
    Thanks
    Troy

Hi he likes the Striper from about 2006 onwards around the 18 ft.
I have tried searching for him but must not be going to the right places.
Just been on Australian sites and cannot believe the prices they are asking for 10 year old boats.
    Thanks
    Troy

    Re: USA Boats

I am still trying to get my head around what sellers are asking for a boat whether it is cruise craft - haines - seafarer.
$ 50000. for a used boat that is 10 years old.
Jesus i must be out of touch with the boating market.
I understand sellers do not want to lose money or take a big loss but there is no way i would be paying the asking price.
Do a search and see where i am coming from.
As i said i might be out of touch with what sellers are asking.

    Re: USA Boats

keep in mind alot of the people your talking about paid serious money for thier boats new, they are potentially losing 25k off the new price they paid prob even more than that, thats a huge hit for anyone. I guess it depends on condition and hours of the rig your looking at, there are plenty out there with low hours and imacculate for the right money, just sift around through them, am sure he could buy well in australia. Problem is people wnat a 6-7m boat for 30k here in oz and expect it to have low hours and be imacculate, well its not going to happen, don't blame the owners/sellers! Blame the friggen australian government who have been ripping poff us punters for way too long, and when i say punters that includes the manufacturers too as they a governed by the same shit costs of material/tax etc etc ect

Dont forget the high Australian wages which also factor into it.

Try a search using Tempest - http://www.searchtempest.com/ for boats in the usa

    or

    boat trader - http://www.boattrader.com/

Tell him to be prepared to only get 20% of his emails replied to and only 20% of the questions in each of his email replied to. They are a funny breed those yanks.

found this one coming up at this weeks repo auction in flordia
This one is 06-07 Trophy 1952 Cuddy with 3.0 liter Mercruiser stern drive. As you can see the trailer on this is nearflawless and this has either 10-20 hours use or has only been in fresh water. would need to inspect the inside, but the outside was very good.

That's too true Steve......my best bit of advice if your serious is to stay up a bit later at nights and call them on the phone.....while I'm here I'll second the Marine Connection vote, they are pretty good to deal with.

Oldie, have a look at boat piont and see what cruise craft boats that are nearly 20 years old are going for.
Good luck if they can their price but they are not losing $25k.
As i said good luck to them and i am not after a argument just stating the facts.

I would not buy a boat that size with a stern drive in it.
