As the title suggests im heading to mud on sat to take my
Fatherin law out for first time on the bay. Just want to know
If its worth taking the pots to try for sandies and where to try.
Never tried for crabs out in the bay.

5.6m profish half cabin, hobie revolution, and not enough time to fish
i took a mate to mud last summer and he brought out 4 pots, we dropped them in on the southern side in about 5m of water and got 1 crab, legal buck but that was it, never tried any other time but a starting point maybe

Have seen plenty of pro pots scattered around Mud on the western side from time to time usually in about 10 - 12m. I tried there once but didn't have any success - but don't let that put you off as I'm not a good crabber.
I have done better to the north/NW of Mud just before the shipping chanel dropoff
