I bought a PELAGIC HYPAFIN 7000 SRX-2 GAME SPINNING REEL

Just had this baby delivered. It seems a seriously well built reel. I pull down all my own reels and service them, so I intend to pull this apart and check it out , but by all accounts it is lookin good. They also sell a 9000. I did the research and it seems like the top reel they sell in a spinreel. Anyone else tried one of these?

Please dont get on this thread and bag Ebay purchasing. I just want to see how they go.

    Cheers

I think there are some bargains on Ebay. Also some lemons but you take your chances. I'm thinking of trying one of these

I have some pelagic gear. I dont have a problem with it, and it's never let me down.

Looks like a reasonable reel for the money. Tuff Tackle Australia were selling them for a lot more than these - and said they were designed and made in Australia.

Here's a review from Alan Hawk for the Pelagic Hypafin SRX-2 / Tuff Tackle Diablo / etc etc ....

This photo shows the Pelagic Hypafin SX-PRO (a different reel to yours) along with the various clones, including the Tuff Tackle Diablo Sniper.

    Brent.

Yeah its strange that these reels look the goods and often claim decent drag and ball bearing.

I bought this for $6.00 , couldn't resist I just have to see whats going on there for $6.00

Not pelagic but similar brand it says Tokushima factory, which is japan... not sure but should be good to see!

Oh well, use it till it breaks I guess.

Also bought some Pelagic plastics off Ebay, have to pick em up, proof in the pudding I guess, I will definitely post anything I get with this gear...

I am stoked it has a wooden handle..lol worth framing.

    Cheers

Basically every rod and reel i have is from Pelagic... my extremely high talent ( LOL not) doesnt make it worthwhile for me to go out and spend $300min on a top notch set up, when for $300 i have about 7 set ups from ultra light 1-2kg rod 1000 reel 2lb braid, to a 15kg boat rod 5000 reel with 50lb braid.... the only thing i wasnt impressed with was their braid, so i buy quality braid....as long as u treat the gear right its great especially for the money
