Angry Cork Repair on Berkley Pro Tactic rods

G'day I have 2 split grip berkley rods that my dog decided to chew on over the christmas break. Just wondering how to fix them.

    Cheers, Jayme

    Two options.
A buy a new base grip and cut the entire cork off and replace and reshape the new grip.
B find some cork and slice off the damage and fit a new section of cork that is a tight fit to your cutout. Use a liquid flexible glue for this repair (tarzans Grip is clear and flexible). reshape the repair after the glue is well dried. A good job will be barely noticeable.
Do not use putties etc, they will not last.

I have found Fuji replacement cork, it is 30mm long and has an ID (???) of either 9mm or 10mm.....which one to get?

Just measure the rod at the top of the butt cork that should tell you what size, i use a wood filler in golden oak colour to fill my corks and seal the corks with U40 cork seal.

Get rid of the dog??? Na, I love dogs but hate split grips. If you can get it of then send it to me and I will make you a new one and post it to you, cost nothing. Or give me the dimensions and I will shape one up for you, I will have to see what cork I have laying around.

I should put some thought into the whole thing up front. Maybe just cut the bach chewed section off and I will have a look for a new cork ring for you. It would easy to just remove the arse end of the grip then glue the new one on and shape. Now thats it for me..promise.
