Amazing Fishing Injury
Marlin Fishing Accident -
Not graphic at all - animation reenactment of what would of been the graphic bit.
Has anyone witnessed/heard or had anything done to them that is similar? (injured while fishing)

One of the Squidy vids I think has footage of a billfish taking the hat of a guy on board in similar circumstances leaving him with a graze on the temple/side of the forehead. Pretty sure Starlo presented this footage.

Thats the sort of thing you just dont factor in or expect..but know it'd be possible. Jack Farrell lost a timber 40 footer and needed rescuing when a big mako slammed down lengthwise on the front hatch area, was off Long Reef Sydney i think maybe 50yrs ago.
We had a v small striped break its bill up under the gunwhale when going apeshit next to the boat. Afterwards we thought we probably got off lightly. Also a mate copped a flying gaff hook straight thru the meaty part of his thigh, packed it with cotton wool both sides and lucky coz missed everything important and very little if any blood, scarey seeing it and he went into bad shock as soon as he saw it...so did we. I;ve crushed two fingers between flying gaff ropes and gunwhale whilst gaffing/tail roping. Some big Tigers can roll at the side of the boat like crocodiles and i learnt the hard way once trying to bullock it by holding the flying gaff rope.
Shit happens with fish if you go to sea often enough. Heard of one guy who was actually knocked out cold by a yft's tail when they pulled it over the side of a trailerboat.
That bloke in the vid is so lucky..or was he unlucky ? Beautiful fish that one.
