What age battery you would accept when buying new from a store?

Noticed new batteries I purchased today are actually a year old and having put them on the charger are quite flat. An issue? Might explain the discount?

As long as they still carry their warranty they should be ok.

I would have had them test it.
Batteries get buggered very quickly if they're full of acid and near flat.

But if they're a year old and the acid was just poured in when you brought them then not a worry.
