Lowarance Mark 5X or Garmin Echo 300c???? Both the same price, around $250.
To be used on a 3.7 mtr tinny and mostly in the Northern parts of the Pumistone Passage or similar.
What would you do???? WHAT WOULD YOU DO???

hi pipifin, i'm currently surfing the net reading about the same sounders as its my xmas present too! i have been playing with these two in a bcf store in simulator modes and found the garmins change of depth range to be a bit of a winner. the 5x would pause and re scale the screen, but the 300c would do it in a continues flow. i am more now thinking between the 300c or the 200. the 200 is a bigger screen, higher resolution and cheaper, but not in colour screen
also keen to hear from peoples first hand experiance with these sounders
