Question Where to fish in 1770 (rivers)

Hi all i am currently camping at the 1770 caravan park till the 26th of december and i was wondering if anyone can till me some spots in the rivers and creeks around this area that are good for fishing, the species i am looking for include mangrove jack, flathead, the odd barra and any other species that are available also i have bought some crab pots and just wondering if there are there any muddies around at the moment?
All help will be greatly appreciated
    Thanks

hi pk i will be arriving at the camp grounds the day you leave. im planing on useing poppers for flathead on the shallow weed beds out from toms creek the large side creek to the left. theres also a hole that is blocked off at low tide just around the corner from the moored boats on the left side of the main creek where you can get some good jacks. Your probaly in with a better chance with barra as there would be alot in the creek after awoonga went over last year. best bet to find spots is to head up the creek at low tide keep your eyes peeled. i do all my jack fishing at around low tide change just on dark with livies mainly this yaer im going to try lures a lot more.
there are lots of fish there you just need to fish at the right times and persistance is key

    cheers breno

Just remember it is out of season for barra, so you don't cop a nasty fine or like.

Yep, dead right apollo, and you're not allowed to target them either. they have to be an accidental catch when you're fishing for something else, adn you have to release them straight back into the water...

Hey mate, Toms Creek holds good jacks but you can only get in & out 2 hours either side of low tide so time your run.
