    Peel Snapper

Went to spot x at Peel yesterday morn. Left home with it raining and on the water @ 0430 with a wet, drenching smooth run over to Peel.First 10 casts nothing then "boom" massive head shakes backed the Minn kota quickly away from from the reef edge and got it into the cleaner water.Mr snapper wanted to go home to his bommie again and i could feel the 8lb leader rubbing along the reef.Got him clear again and turned his head but then the leader popped.F**K!!!!! I checked the leader and it was shredded. I estimated it at 70cm going by previous experience.Anyway got a feed from 36cm-48cm.I can recommend the new Shimano "Rarenium" 2500... nice smooth drag and with 8lb super PE it handled the bigger fish nicely.

    Re: Peel Snapper

Nice work mate, good eating size fish there. I was out there from 5 til 8 last night for the same sort of a result. Ripper of an afternoon on the water with bugger all boats out. Also managed to drop one right at the boat that was at least 60cm + as the line managed to go between the gap in the eye of the hook (as far as i could tell) or the eye of the hook somehow failed? As the knot was still intact just missing the hook

    Cheers,

    Lachie
