using live bait down the coast

hey guys was just wondering where about would be worth a shot with some live herring, mullet and prawns. went out with my friends the other week to try live bait for the first at the brisbane river and just caught ray after ray after ray. This week i want to head down the coast and try my luck as soft plastics and lures havent been going well lately landbased. anyways would anyone be able to recommend somewhere at the gold coast to give live bait a try?
    cheers grant H
