Thread: Name a local extinct species.

Re: Name a local extinct species.

The figures vary depending on the source, but around 150 species on this planet become extinct every single day. So chances are in your lifetime you are going to stumble across one. The great thing about evolution is that you may even discover a new species one day!

Tunaticer if you think there are no sole around, let beefaman have a fish in the area for half an hour. He can't help but catch them. He is the soleman.

By the way, if you are talking about sole as having no tail as the flounder does, then we caught one off the woody pt jetty earlier this year. caught a few sandies as well. Went back after a few sherbets and cooked up the crabs in boiling water. Sole went in as well, but forgot about it and ended up with sole infused sand crab. Not bad actually.

Yes, I was going to add The Briebane River Cod as mentioned by Cody. I have heard verbal records of the Aboriginals bringing them to the farmers on the Stanley. Probably in exchange for Tobacco.

That was 'pre Somerset' of course.
