Evans Head Fishing Charters - any comments ?

Have booked a week out with Evans Head charters for August next year.

Has anybody been out with these guys, any comments on their operation?

The pics on the web site are quite impressive !!

    Regards
    Craigie.

    Thanks Crab Man Craig !

I have swapped a few emails with Mick the Skipper, he has been very informative and good to deal with !!
Katrina his wife takes the bookings and was very helpful with the accommodation side of things.

It looks to add up to a very good package deal.

    Cheers

    Hey Craig,

A couple of mates had a week there some time ago. They took the "7 days accom, 3 days fishing" option.

They reckoned it was pretty good. Apparently you all bunk down in a big house for the week, feed yourself and all that. Quite reasonable apparently.

    Been looking at it myself.

    G'day Johnny !

Yeah mate, I've been thinking about it for a while !
It just seems like very good value compared to the day trips out of Rainbow that cost over $250 (if you stay the night), which is the other place I like to go on charters.
I occasionally go out with all the Forestry Old Boys (Tom Just, John Duus, Les Hawkes etc) out of 1770, but that 4 day trip is up around a Grand now so it's a rarety on my yearly fishing calender.

We are doing the 5 day fishing/7 day accomm package, which will still give plenty of time for socializing, bbq'S, wandering off to the pub for a bet etc etc...
Main target species for fishing are Snapper and Pearl Perch, so can't go wrong there, both good eating !!

I'm thinking this could turn into a yearly event !!

    Cheers
    Craig.

It should be pretty good from what I've heard Craig. The operators have a good value for money package apparently.

Went into the old Forestry recently for a send off and it was really depressing to see how a great Department has been shredded to a shadow of what it was after being flogged off to private enterprise. Thanks Anna.

Nothing concrete yet Terry, just thinking of the logistics. Thinking about logistics requires a lot of thinking.

But yeah, it does sound interesting. Snapper and pearlies as Craigie has said sounds pretty good to me.

    What are you thinking?

TOL, let me know if you're ever keen to do a trip out with him. I'm only a half hour down the road now at Lismore so would jump at the chance.

Craigie, you'll have a great time, i fish with mick all the time and he does know his stuff. He's been in the game a fair while now and knows the grounds off Evans Head like the back of his hand. The whole week will be good (weather permitting) as Evans is a great place to kick back and relax.
Make sure you spend lots of money at Beachside Bargains.
