    Take care when fishing

As LP has done else where in the forum I just thought that this article would be a good reminder for everyone.

With the festive season almost apon us you can never be to complacent wether you are in a boat or on the land.

Be carefull everyone and think before you act it is not worth loosing your life for a feed of fish.

From the Courier Mail web site this morning http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/q...-1226214582369

funny/sad thing is being young and dumb, they're probably wondering what the fuss is all about. good thing neither was hurt or worse. and the irony.... unless the reel is promptly cleaned (remember young and dumb) it'll probably be cactus soon anyway.

Image if they were on a different headland. Those rocks there are smooth with limited barnacles etc.

Ya life is worth a hook ????

As we all know, Rock Fishing is the number killer of recreational activities in Australia.

Good post Axl, and yes, a timley reminder to all.

Let's not forget, if we are not the clowns on the rocks, we probably have a small duty of care to warn or at least advise those that are there, to take care.

Let's make this Xmas a happy one, help those in need ( boat ramp newbies ) and please be patient.

    Re: Take care when fishing

I love fishing off the rocks, and i get plenty of opportunity around Iluka where we take our holidays. I always wear cleats even when it is flat and calm .You can slip and fall out there without the aid of a wave. This year if santa reads my letter i will be wearing an inflatable life jacket.
I am seriously considering wearing a bike helmet too, I would like to hear if any one else uses head protection on the rocks.
I think its the smart thing to do, it might get the odd dork comment, but I figure a live dork is worth two dead dills

    Cheers
